Music

Eventually, I'd like to add old pix, album covers, flyers, etc. that were relevant to these projects, so hopefully I'll find some time for that. I wish I remembered dates a little better. NP was probably around '97/'98, H9K '98 to '01 and SAD '01/'02.

Nerd Processor

This was my very first actual band - I had jammed with people before and filled in on key-bass for my other friends' band. This project was conceived one night at the pad of the brothers Mullen. We were in high school, we were bored, we liked the Descendents, Boris the Sprinkler and the Mr. T. Experience too much... We made these demo recordings on my old Tascam 4-track over the course of 2 or 3 days. The band had pretty much dissolved by then, and I didn't think too much of this when we made it - now I love it. Guest appearances by Joel and Dr. Frank of MTX and Bill Fucking Shatner.

Hell 9000

The Buzzcocks are to Magazine as Nerd Processor is to Hell 9000. We began to pull away from our teenage punk leanings and started hitting the Nick Cave, Gary Numan and Big Black pretty hard. I had a lot of fun with this band. For the first time, I felt like we were making "real" music, for whatever that is worth. We played a few shows in the burbs and even a battle of the bands (which was, uh, interesting.) We recorded two eps in my bedroom on my old Korg D8. These recordings are still kind of frustrating to listen to, because I didn't really want this band to break up, but 4 people going 4 different directions makes longevity an impossibility.

Scott & Doug

My friend Doug and I used to play some live sets at this open mic night at the old alma mater. We had fun. Pixies, The Monkees, Poster Children, and even more embarrassing stuff were all common fodder. We even covered Her Intestines Line My Icebox, a wistful tune by Anal Autopsy (aka Slaughterhouse).
